So lately I’ve just been browsing the American Girl website, you know, just for fun, and I’ve been seeing some dolls and items that I really like. Soooooooooooooooooo, I’ve decided to do a special post every Wednesday (not for any particular reason, it just happens to be Wednesday today) called Dreaming of Dolls, where I’m going to basically pick one or two AG dolls that I like, and pick accessories and clothing for them from AG and Etsy.
LET US BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Truly Me #24
Ok. I’ve been OBSESSED with this doll FOREVER!!! My cousin has her and I’m extremely jealous. Even though my cousin’s only eight. Wow, I sound kind of awful right now. Way to go, me, jealous of a little, innocent eight-year old. Anyway, this doll is SO cute. I know the MyAG, Truly Me, whatever-you-want-to-call-it line has a bad reputataion for making so many blonde dolls, but this one stands out from the rest. The combination of features is really pretty awesome, and I find it more realistic than the rest of the blonde Truly Me Dolls. If I had this doll, I would probably either name her Juliet or Noelle.
Outfits/ Accessories for her:
Yeah, yeah, I know this outfit’s kind of old, but It’s SO something that I would put on #24. I don’t know why, it’s just so simple and cute. I would so wear this. Minus the platforms. Because I’m really tall, and really clumsy…. and I would probably fall on my face.
This dress from CircleCSewing on Etsy is ADORABLE. I think the color palette would go well with #24’s features, and paired off with a cute pair of converse-like sneakers? Viola! Perfect.
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is so COOL! This set is so adorable, and I like that it experiments with a different color scheme. It’s totally getting me pumped up for the OLYMPICS!!! Either one of these would be cute for #24. I imagine her being very athletic………
2) Truly Me #47
This doll is absolutely gorgeous. Her hair is SO SHINY!!!! And her face is just so cute:) I like that AG has been starting to add more diversity to their dolls. Adding different hair, skin tones, face molds, etc. makes the dolls more realistic, and more unique in their own special way. If I had this doll, I would name her Tegan.
Outfits/Accesories for her:
The “Icy Blue Wind Chill” outfit from NoodleClothing on Etsy is so elegant and pretty, and it would go BEAUTIFULLY with #47’s dark hair. If I didn’t live in 70 degree winters and 120 degree summers, I would definitely try to recreate this outfit for myself.
Lea’s Bahia Outfit is definitely my favorite outfit in the Lea Collection. The pattern is cute, and I’m just a sucker for Chambray shorts. The sandals are nice, too ( even though I accidentally cropped them off, along with part of poor Lea’s face). #47 would definitely look adorable in this outfit.
These overalls from LoriLizGirlsandDolls on Etsy are PERFECT!!! They’re so detailed, and they’ll go with all sorts of things. I’ve bought items from this shop before, and they are beautiful and extremely well-made. These overalls would look AMAZING on #47.
Alrighty, that’s it!!! Check back next Wednesday for another Dreaming of Dolls!
So-long for not-so-long,
